Hand therapy is another name for upper limb rehabilitation. Our objective is to encourage recovery, maximize benefits, and achieve certain objectives after injury, such returning to function, sport, and work-related tasks using your hand. Splinting or casting, exercises, strengthening, and other forms of therapy are all examples of non-surgical treatment. How Group Therapy Works

Group therapy involves one or more psychologists who lead a group of roughly five to 15 patients. Typically, groups meet for an hour or two each week. Some people attend individual therapy in addition to groups, while others participate in groups only.

What If I Don’t Find The Right Therapist?

You may have to try on a few before you find a good fit. Research indicates that experience, ethnicity, gender, theoretical orientation, age, and other therapist variables are pretty irrelevant when looking for a therapist. The single most important factor is the ‘goodness of fit’ between client and therapist.

When Will I Get Better?

It’s been found that those treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy report feeling better after around 10-20 sessions. “I have had many successful stories with clients who had situational issues that only needed brief therapy services,” said Catchings.
